Long has been one of my favorite NCLTs, this Two Dollar coin issued by the Bahamas in 1995 has steadily increased in price over the past few years. Great addition to any collection of wildlife or world coins.
Canada – Walrus & Calf Coin & Stamp Set – $5 – 2005 – Wood Presentation Case – COA – One thing we know about the Royal Canadian Mint is that they turn out some exceptionally beautiful coins. If their marketing department would do as good a job as their production department, they could be the top choice of collectors and coin dealers everywhere. That editorial comment notwithstanding, this superb stamp and coin set featuring a walrus and calf would be a fantastic addition to any collection of wildlife or world coins. It consists of one .999 silver proof Five Dollar coin and two One Dollar stamps, one unused and one cancelled, each featuring a Walrus and Calves. Total mintage on this set was limited to 25,555 sets worldwide. This set comes in a beautiful wood presentation case with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
Cyprus – Mediterranean Seal – 2005 – 1 Pound – Proof Silver Crown
One of the wildlife crowns issued as part of the Preserve Planet Earth series, this one features a mother seal and her pup. There are six species of Arctic ice seals: ringed seals, bearded seals, harp seals, hooded seals, spotted seals, and ribbon seals. The Arctic ice seals breed on ice. There are two common predators that Arctic ice seals contend with that Antarctic ice seals do not. One common predator of all Arctic ice seals is the polar bear. The polar bears do not always consume the seal meat, but they do consume the blubber. Arctic ice seal also have to contend with local populations of humans who hunt the seals for meat and fur. This Eisenhower Dollar sized crown, is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, and has a legal tender value of One Crown in its country of origin.
This beautiful uncirculated Crown was issued by the government of the Isle of Man to commemorate the International Year of the Ocean in 1998. Featured on the reverse of this Crown is an Antarctic sealife scene which shows reticent penguins considering the danger posed by two capering seals.
POLAND – GREY SEAL – 2 ZLOTY – 2007 – UNCIRCULATED NORDIC GOLD CROWN—This is the eagerly-awaited yearly issue of wildlife coins from Poland, which features the Grey Seal (Halichoerus grypus). Also comes in a 20 Zlotych Proof Silver Crown that is also available on this website. Would make a spectacular addition to any collection of wildlife or world coins.
