Tassarolo, a county in the province of Alessandria in Piedmaont, came into the possesion of the Spinola family in 1560 and was given the minting privilege in that year by Emperor Ferdinand I. Coins were struck only by Agostino and his nephhew Filippo. At the latters death in 1688 the mint was closed. As with all my numismatic items, I guarantee the authenticity of this coin. Listed in Krauses Standard Catalog of World Coins as KM52 with a Market Value of $185 in XF. Great addition to any collection of medieval coins.
