The Terracotta Army dates back to 200BC with Qin Shi Huangdi becoming first Emperor of China. Emperor Qin was know for being one of the greatest military leaders of all time and for his extreme organization and military strategies. In 210BC Qin Shi Huangdi died. It was the Imperial Ministers who received the commands to install a complete life-size army of Terracotta sculptures in his tomb and to protect the Emperor from any invading armies. The two coins in this beautiful Terracotta Army Set take the form of a Banliang coin with each coin being round with a square hole through its center. The Banliang coins were typical for the Qin State. Included in the set is a Terracotta figurine of Emperor Qin.
