Probably the most recognized Polish coin ever minted! I have been able to obtain a few of these coins directly from Poland. One of my best friends has carried one around on his keyring for years! He was a Roman Catholic priest from Poland, associated with the Solidarity union. Recognized as a martyr by the Catholic Church, he was beatified on June 6, 2010 in Warsaw’s Pilsudski Square.

Polish painter Ignacy Aleksander Gierymski was born 30 January, 1850 in Warsaw, and died 8 March, 1901 in Rome. Famous for his rendering of The Sea in 1891. This coin was released by the Polish Mint and sold out prior to its official first day of issue, this is the fifth proof silver crown issued in the Polish Painters series. It carries a 20 Zlotych denomination, is minted from 28.28 grams of .925 silver and is sure to be a hit with collectors of world coins for a long time to come. I keep being amazed by the coins being turned out by the Polish Mint. Would also make a nice gift for collectors of famous artists or world coins.
Wladyslaw Grabski (7 July 1874 – 1 March 1938) was a Polish politician, economist and historian. Main proponent of the currency reform, Prime Minister of Poland (1920 and 1923-1925), brother of Stanislaw Grabski. This outstanding proof silver coin would make a beautiful addition to any world coins collection or make a great gift for any collector of Polish or world coins.
