Poland Painter Aleksander Gierymski 2006 20 Zl Rectangular Proof Silver Crown

$69.99

Polish painter Ignacy Aleksander Gierymski was born 30 January, 1850 in Warsaw, and died 8 March, 1901 in Rome. Famous for his rendering of The Sea in 1891. This coin was released by the Polish Mint and sold out prior to its official first day of issue, this is the fifth proof silver crown issued in the Polish Painters series. It carries a 20 Zlotych denomination, is minted from 28.28 grams of .925 silver and is sure to be a hit with collectors of world coins for a long time to come. I keep being amazed by the coins being turned out by the Polish Mint. Would also make a nice gift for collectors of famous artists or world coins.

Poland Harvest Festival Dozynki 20 Zlotych 2004 Proof Silver Crown KM- Y#504

$69.99

The weaving of the harvest wreath (called the “crop”) and a procession taking the wreath to the festival host (the squire, the best farmer in the village, priest, village administrator, district or province governor or even the president of Poland). This was the most distinctive, solemn and spectacular part of the harvest festival. The harvest festival – albeit in a slightly altered form – has survived to the present day as a great crop feast and the holiday of all farmers. This coin celebrates the Harvest Festival. Minted in 2004, it has a 20 Zlotych denomination and features a procession in folk costumes bearing crops below a semicircular inscription, DOZYNKI (Harvest Festival) on the reverse.
