Singapore – Type Set & Postal Cache – 6 Coins – Brilliant Uncirculated – Descriptive Card – One of a series of different type coin sets that was issued by the Franklin Mint in a subscription program back in the mid-1980s. The country’s coins are mounted on an 8″ by 11 1/2″ card with a cancelled Postal Cache in the upper right hand corner. The back of the card gives all of the coin specifications. The set also includes a descriptive card that gives a brief history of the country as well as a regional map showing the country’s location relative to neighboring countries. All of the coins in this set were obtained directly from the country’s Central Bank and have never been in circulation. This beautiful set would make an excellent addition to any school project or collection of world coins.

Prior to 1847, no dates are found on coins of Cambodia. It is estimated that this 2 PE coin was minted sometime between 1650 and 1850. Beginning in the 16th century, Cambodian coins began to appear that were all small, round, one-sided coins with images of plants and animals. They were crudely hand struck in silver, copper, or billion (low grade silver). This 2 PE coin would make unique and wonderful addition to the collection of world coins.

The coin also bears the privy mark of the World Wildlife Fund.
