Camp Greenbriar is the oldest privately owned summer camp in the United States. Founded in 1898 the camp sought to balance rigorous academic learning with no less rigorous athletic and wilderness training. Located in Alderson West Virginia Camp Greenbrier has always been one of the premier camps for boys. From 1917 to 1925 the camp served as a Military cadet training facility. This award is believed to date from the late 1920s when the camp had returned to its original mission.
This neat dollar-sized pocket piece was issued in 1970 and bears the inscription “REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM” on one side and “I WAS THERE” on the other. Would make a great gift for any Vietnam veteran. I have been able to acquire a few of these neat pieces and am offering them on my website.
