This legal tender One Dollar coin comes as shown with a descriptive card from the Perth Mint.
The medal, containing an embedded piece of the Chondrite Meteorite NW 869, is 5 centimeters in diameter, weighs 51.1 grams and was struck in high relief. From what I have been able to ascertain, only 1,000 of these pieces were minted and each one was individually numbered.

Okay, every now and then there’s an innovation in numismatics that truly bamboozles me. This world coin has (believe it) friction/odor tech (better known as “scratch and sniff”). Now I like the smell of money well enough but this is one step beyond and this coin actually emits the smell of gunpowder and smoke when the image of the ship is rubbed! That’s getting into the buccaneer spirit! And it’s appropriate considering that the “Ark Royal” was the flagship of Queen Elizabeth’s navy in its fight against the Spanish Armada. She saw service from 1588 till 1636. If you’re a collector of world coins and have an affinity for buccaneers, privateers, or ships then this world coin would make an extraordinary addition to your world coin collection.

That’s getting into the buccaneer spirit! And it’s appropriate considering that the “Christian den Syvende,” built in 1767 for Denmark’s schizophrenic Monarch, King Christian VII, was a massive three-decked ship of the line. It had 90 guns and a crew of 849 men and saw about 40 years of service! If you’re a collector of world coins and have an affinity for buccaneers, privateers, or truly impressive ships then this world coin would make an extraordinary addition to your world coin collection.
Patriotic takeoff on the famous Flying “V” guitar featured in one of my other eBay offerings this week. We can thank Ted McCarty for establishing the precedent for bold and innovative design in solid-body electric guitars with his Flying V guitar. Introduced by Gibson in 1958, the flying V was made famous by musicians such as Albert King and Jimi Hendrix. This coin from our collection of guitar coins would make a great gift for that guitar enthusiast in your life!
One of the more unusual coins minted under authority of the government of the Somali Republic. The Flying V guitar, which is a favorite of rock musicians from Jimi Hendrix, to the band Metallica, was patented by the Gibson Guitar Company in 1958. This is the guitar that 99% of air-guitarists visualize as they strut their stuff. Would make a great gift for that guitar enthusiast in your life!
