Palau – French Battleship Richelieu – $10 – 2010 – 2 Ounce Proof Silver Crown – COA – The Richelieu was a battleship of the French Navy, lead ship of her class. She served during World War II, on the Vichy Regime side, notably fending off an Allied attempt on Dakar, and later with Allied forces in the Indian Ocean in 1944 and 1945. She was used during the Indochina War, and served into the 1960s.
Palau – Battleship HMS Prince of Wales – $10 – 2009 – 2 oz Proof Silver Crown – COA – On January 19, 1941 the Royal Navy commissioned this battleship, which was the most modern at that time. The 44,800 gross register tons were powered by four 110,000 horsepower steam turbines which enabled the ship to reach a speed of 27.7 knots. More than 1,500 officers and sailors operated the ship which had a length of 731.25 feet and a beam of 102 feet. This stunning silver crown is the fourth coin issued in this series and was struck from two ounces of .999 silver. Total mintage for this coin was limited to 1,000 pieces. The coin comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
