The front of this polymer 50 Pesos Meican banknote features the image of Jose maria Morelos, (September 30, 1765 – December 22, 1815) was a Mexican Roman Catholic priest and revolutionary rebel leader who led the Mexican War of Independence movement, assuming its leadership after the execution of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in 1811. He was later captured by the Spanish colonial authorities and executed for treason in 1815. The back of the note shows the acqueduct located in Morelia, Michoacan. Beautiful butterflies serve as anti-counterfeiting measures.
