This piece depicts Roger Sherman from Connecticut, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776 and is accompanied by a Crisp Uncirculated Bicentennial Two Dollar banknote that depicts the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the back, as shown in the images. The Medal and Banknote come accompanied with a Certificate of Authenticity which displays a copy of the original painting by John Trumbull entitled “Declaration of Independence” which is exhibited in the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, DC. and is the template for the design of the back of the 2 Dollar Bill. The reverse of the Certificate of Authenticity also displays the name of the signer, of which colony he was a delegate and his signature as it appears on the nation’s founding document.
