This exclusive series named “Encuentro de dos Mundos (Meeting of Two Worlds), represents the union of the Iberian-American countries by sea. The adventurous spirit of those who sailed towards the American continent is recognized in this issue. The countries that participate in the series are: Argentina, Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Portugal. Each coin is 40 millimeters in diameter and minted from twenty-seven grams of .925 fine silver. Nicaragua has chosen to depict a boat sailing among the islands of Lake Cocibolca, a three thousand-plus square mile body of water also known as Lake Nicaragua. Would make a great addition to any collection of nautical or world coins.
