Description
Maximinaus ruled the eastern portion of the Empire when the famous Edict of Milan granted complete religious toleration to all the subjects of the Roman Empire. He was best known as one of the last persecutors of the Christians. In 313 AD, Maximinaus was completely defeated by Licinius. He escaped by disguising himself as a slave. He fell ill and died a year later.
