In order to value a coin, regardless of it's age, you have to know the specific attributes of the coin as well as the condition. To ask the value of 17th and 18th century coins is like asking what cars from the 1930s are worth. There are three factors that determine the value of any coin: scarcity, condition and who cares? We have coins in our shop that are 2,000 years old, in fantastic condition, and we sell them for $25. Why? Because every time a new site is dug up in the Middle East they find thousands of coins that were in use at the time the site was buried. Because of arid conditions, the coins remained in great condition and didn't deteriorate. But how many peolpe do you know that collect 2,000 year old Middle Eastern coins? Not many!

If you have a specific coin in mind, with a date and other such information, I could give you a pretty accurate value.
