Which area makes your favorite coin? Personally I am a fan of the old American coins such as the Indian heads, old silver dollars, etc. What about you?

My uncle is in ( - - blocked - - ) with collecting coins, and he must have thousands of those indian head pennies. I mean thousands! He literally has cans full of them. His coin collection is not that impressive I am sure to most collectors in it's beauty. Most coins that he has aren't in anything close to mint condition, but he has so damn many. I am sure that he probably has some very valuable coins in his collection and he probably doesn't even know what they are worth.

He is also a big collector of arrowheads and I guess he has some indian arrowheads that are worth over 200k each. He lives in Michigan and owns about 100 acres. While farming the land there he has unearthed all of these arrowheads. I am really surprised that there were so many indians here. A bit off topic I know but it is incredible to think of all of the indians that used to inhabit America and how quickly we herded them into their cute little reservations...

Back on topic, the indian head pennies used to be very common but I come across them very rarely anymore. If you keep your eye out you will surely find some though. It is sad but I like so many others use digital money instead of paper and coin so often that I rarely get a chance to even find these valuable coins. I need to start to think about that. There is no way to stumble across a valuable coin when you are paying with MasterCard.

Equally there is very little chance of losing rare pennies on master card, and if you wipe out a whole bunch of old pennies, the shop keeper wouldn't be much pleased..

I myself am a fan of the ancient currencies as opposed to newer ones, all of the art and style has gone from them due to the introduction of electronic and paper money.

Presumably, all of the coins are different sized... and the pictures have little influence upon the value of the coin itself.
