Coin collecting books for a beginner.

I was looking for some books that will help me break into coin collecting. I looked a bit at Amazon but there are so many that I have no idea what the best books are, does anyonw here have any suggestions on what their favorite books are, and especially what the best would be for a beginning coin collector.

personally, although only an ( - - blocked - - ) coin collector who collects mainly for enjoyment and historical purposes i found this to be a useful reference book:

Roman Base metal coins, this contains nearly 250 years of pictures of coinage and is a very good price guide which I have found to be reasonalbly accurate in the time I have been doing it.

I also have the same guide for silver coins and I have to say that for the price of this - and the information on rare and collectable coins that you get it is a wonderful book!.
