Do coins from other countries hold collector value? My Grandfather brought back a few coins from Europe in WWII. Would these be valuable?

In order to tell the value of a coin, one would need to know what coin it is, the year, condition and probobly see a good picture of it. Some WWII coinage is worth a lot while some has value only to the person who brought it back.
