Are any coins made from Platinum?

Yes, they do make coins out of Platinum.
Russia issued platinum coins from 1828 until 1845.
There was a platinum 1866 Spanish ten Escudos piece that went up for auction once.
(I believe it was listed in Schumberger) That might have been a pattern vs. an issue coin though.
Canadian Platinum Maple Leafs are Legal tender coins with a $50 face value.
The American Eagle platinum $100 coin was issued in 1997. (This is the legal tender version, not the special ?collectors? issue.)
Other countries that have issued platinum coins are Panama, Australia, Lesotho, France, Isle of Man, Portugal, and the U.K.
I?m sure there are other countries issuing platinum coins, but these are the ones that come to mind first.
