Following the outstanding success of the first Dreaming releases in 2009, the Mint proudly presents this 2010 silver proof coin depicting Indigenous designer Darryl Bellotti’s unique interpretations of well-known Australian animals. This 2010 coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality and is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965. The coin’s reverse depicts a unique interpretation of a Common Wombat, an herbivorous marsupial that digs burrows with its powerful claws. Designs for the three-year Dreaming Series have been created by Darryl Bellotti, The Perth Mint’s Indigenous artist. The coin’s obverse bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Perth Mint will release no more than 10,000 of these silver coins. Each coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The coin is housed in presentation packaging comprising a display case featuring a timber lid and a superbly illustrated box-shipper.
