May Meeting Minutes

The regularly scheduled meeting of the Buncombe County Coin Club was held at the Grove Arcade on Monday, May 14th, 2007. 

After a lively session of "show and tell", the election of a temporary slate of officers was held.  Elected to serve until regular elections in December, 2007 were Dan Lewis, president, Les Stevenson, vice-president, Liz Duncan, secretary and Roger Gumm as treasurer.  A motion was made that dues be set at $10.00 per year for adults and at $5.00 for young numismatists.  The motion was seconded and carried by unanimous vote.

Les Stevenson agreed to prepare a press release about the club, and several ideas were discussed concerning ways to reach more collectors and expand the club's membership roster.  Dan Lewis and Les Stevenson agreed to split the cost of donating new Presidential Dollar collector boards to new club participants.

Dan Lewis agreed to speak on the Presidential Dollar series at the next meeting, with emphasis on the errors that have surfaced with the issuance of the Washington Dollar.
