March Meeting Minutes

The regularly scheduled meeting of the Buncombe County Coin Club was held at the Grove Arcade in Asheville at 7PM on March 19th, 2007.

 Present were Dan Lewis, Les Stevenson, Vann Gibbs, Jr., Doug and Libby Johnson, Liz Duncan, Dick Kurtz, Joe Smolski and Russ Martin.

 After some discussion, it was agreed by all that our regular monthly meeting would be moved from the third Monday of the month to the second Monday, so as to not conflict with the Lake Norman Coin Club meeting. 

 Les Stevenson agreed to contact the Asheville Citizen-Times to get some coverage of the coin club and its activities.

 Dick Kurtz agreed to provide us with a copy of the by-laws from the Hendersonville Club, and it was agreed that we would elect a temporary slate of officers at the April meeting to serve until the club is established.

 It was also agreed that at that time the club would take steps to become a member of both the American Numismatic Association as well as the North Carolina Numismatic Association.

 The meeting adjourned at 8:15PM.
