My first sight of this world coin with an African Monkey on the obverse didn't leave much of an impression. I handle world coins depicting wildlife often and I have my clear favorites and was ready to relegate this one to the bin, but then I flipped it over and found myself examining the obverse with appreciation and real interest. The composition of the map of Africa using examples of wildlife and their habitats is ingenious and very well designed. The placement of the Somali Coat of Arms small and to the left of the central map element was refreshing. I therefore commend this unique and lovely proof silver world coin to you with my own full appreciation.
