Production problems early in the year left collectors clamoring for the coin, and volatile silver prices in the last half of the year have created fiscal problems in the production of the coin. Once we have the final mintage figures, we will know whether this will be a repeat of the 1996 issue, which at this time is still commanding well over $1,000 a roll. It might not be a bad idea to put back one or more rolls of this coin to see what happens. The floor on the downside is the intrinsic value of 20 ounces of .999 silver, the upside could be a numismatic premium that could be significant. I don't have a crystal ball, but I have followed my own advice and put back a few rolls for my grandkids :).
