Struck by the Polish Mint in Warsaw in 2000, this Holy Year proof silver crown is another example of the outstanding work being produced by the Polish Mint. The obverse shows a centered image of the Eagle as the State Emblem of the Republic of Poland against the background of a stylized rosette. Below, an inscription: 10 Z£. On the reverse, against the background of a cross, in the central part, joint Greek letters: X (chi) and P (rho) - the Christ’s monogram, and A (alpha) and w (omega) - an early Christian symbol of Jesus Christ. Between the cross’s arms, symbols of the Apostles: a man and an inscription: Œw. Mateusz (St. Matthew), a lion and an inscription: Œw. Marek (St. Mark), a bull and an inscription: Œw. £ukasz (St. Luke), and an eagle and an inscription Œw. Jan (St. John). Would make a nice gift for collectors of Polish or world coins.
