Andorra - Painters of the World - Albrecht Durer - Adam Eve - 10 Diners - 2010 - Proof Silver - COA - This is the seventh silver coin issued as part of the popular "Painters of the World" commemorative series, depicting famous artists from history immortalized in silver together with their most famous works enhanced with eye-catching color. This 2010 issue is dedicated to German painter and printmaker, Albrecht Durer. Known mostly for his intricately detailed woodcut print work, Durer (1471-1525) is regarded as the greatest artist of the Northern Renaissance, having established his reputation across Europe when he was still in his twenties. Struck into the silver of this rectangular coin is the image of Durer taken from the earliest painted self-portrait (1493), below is his name and the years of his life, while the 'AD' that he used to sign much of his work is to the lower right. Pad printed in the right portion is the image of one of his painting, “Adoration of the Holy Trinity”, in vibrant full-color. On the obverse is a recreation of Durer's engraving, “Adam and Eve”, with the country of issue to the left. Below is the Andorra coat of arms, the denomination and year of issue. Each silver coin is encapsulated and supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity.
