One of a series of beautiful proof silver world coins depicting the wildlife of Somalia and East Africa. These coins were issued by Somalia in 1998 and have almost disappeared entirely from the secondary market. A similar bimetallic series with a 250 Shillings denomination, as well as a copper-nickel version with a 25 Shillings denomination were also produced in the same year. This coin would make an excellent gift for any collector of wildlife or world coins.
