The Isle of Man issued a series of proof silver crowns in the late 1990s and early 2000s featuring "Explorers of the World". This coin depicts Martin Frobisher who was born around 1535 and died in 1594. Frobisher was one of the first English explorers to find and navigate the Northwest Passage that led to the Orient. Frobisher was also one of the greatest men of the Elizabethan seamen. This coin would make a nice addition to any collection of ship or world coins.
