One of a series of beautiful bimetallic world coins depicting the wildlife of Somalia and East Africa. These coins were issued by Somalia in 1998 and have almost disappeared entirely from the secondary market. A similar proof silver crown with a 250 shillings denomination as well as a copper-nickel version with a 25 Shillings denomination were also issued in the same year. Would make an excellent gift for any collector of wildlife or world coins.
