Although commonly referred to as Chief Oncpapa, his real name was TA-TO'-KA-IN'-YAN-KA or Running Antelope. Born in 1821 near the Grand River (now South Dakota), he was Chief of the Oncpapa band of the Sioux Indians. This banknote has become a classic among collectors everywhere.
