Amos Hobby Publishing will launch two new magazines for coin collectors during 2007 ? one for collectors of the new Presidential Dollar and First Spouse series and one for collectors of world coins.
Presidential Dollars & Collectibles premiered on newsstands and in bookstores throughout the nation March 6 and WorldWide Coins will be on sale at newsstands nationwide in September.
Amos Hobby Publishing, Sidney, Ohio, is publisher of three of the nation?s leading publications for collectors of coins, medals and paper money: the weekly Coin World, the monthly Coin Values and the bi-monthly Paper Money Values.
?We believe these new magazines present an unprecedented opportunity to expand the coin collecting hobby and the horizons of both novice and veteran collectors alike,? said Coin World and Coin Values Editor Beth Deisher, who will guide the development of both new magazines.
Deisher and Coin Values Managing Editor Erik Martin have teamed to edit Presidential Dollars & Collectibles, which will be published annually throughout the 10-plus years of the U.S. Mint?s Presidential Dollar program.
Beginning in 2007 four presidents a year will be depicted on circulating dollar coins. The program will continue until all presidents who have been deceased at least two years are honored.
Each annual issue of Presidential Dollars & Collectibles will present information about the four Presidential dollars to be issued during the year as well as the First Spouse .9999 gold bullion coins and the First Spouse bronze medals that will also be issued. Equally important, it will present a comprehensive look at other numismatic collectibles of the presidents and their wives, including coins, medals and paper money.
Deisher will team with Pulitzer Prize-winning author and coin collector S. Andrew Perala to produce WorldWide Coins.
WorldWide Coins will be published six times a year and focus on collecting coins from nations around the world. Additionally it will provide timely updates about newly released coins, historical overviews of past coinages, where to find desirable coins and strategies for different approaches to collecting ? whether by specific country, various topics depicted on coins or metallic content.
Special features will include tips on spotting undervalued coins, what?s hot what?s not in the current world coin market, and rotating pricing updates of Canadian, British, Mexican and Euro coins.
Both new magazines will be presented in an 8-by-11.5-inch magazine format and will feature color throughout.
Orders for individual copies of Presidential Dollars & Collectibles and bulk orders may be placed directly through the Amos Advantage Web site, www.amosadvantage.com, which is available to subscribers of Amos Hobby publications.
